Our Am. Health Association CPR & AED Class
Course content will touch on the chain of survival, why CPR is essential, how AEDs restart the heart, CPR & AED skills for adults, children, and infants, as well as choking and other emergency situations that might lead to cardiac arrest.
Professional CPR Classes go beyond the textbook basics of how to provide CPR or use an AED. All of our instructors are first responders or professional educators with experience in the emergency field, and their passion is to educate students on why CPR and AEDs are absolutely necessary in a cardiac emergency. In this class, students will learn what to expect when providing CPR and using an AED in a real world environment, and how to properly respond in order to ensure the best possible chance of survival.
Note: General-level CPR/AED & First Aid courses are accredited through the American Health Association (AM. Health), are OSHA compliant, and follow the most current AHA and ECC guidelines.

What is CPR & AED Training?
General-level CPR & AED courses (as opposed to BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers), are designed to teach the lay-rescuer how to respond to cardiac emergencies in common situations such as at home with a family member, at work, or in a public setting. These courses focus on the foundational principles of CPR to ensure students understand how CPR works within the human body and how to perform it properly. Professional CPR also implements repetitive practice to help students build muscle memory for quick response in emergencies relating to adults, children, and infants.
While not every general-rescuer will have access to an AED, automated defibrillators are common (and often a requirement) in certain public spaces. AEDs are what can restart the heart of a person experiencing cardiac arrest, so it’s extremely important that students know how to use one if a defibrillator is available.
FAQ's
Can I pay when I come to class?
Yes, but paying when you arrive does NOT guarantee your seat in class. We recommend registering and paying ahead of time in order to reserve your seat.
I signed up for the wrong class!
That’s OK! Give us a call or send us an email and we can make the corrections and payment adjustments to ensure you take the class you need.
Can I reschedule? Is there a rescheduling fee?
Yes, rescheduling is easy and only comes with a small fee of $7 for our standard course types: CPR, CPR & First Aid, and BLS.
All reschedules for CPR, First Aid, or BLS must be within 6 months of initial registration date.
***Cancellations and refunds after the initial class reschedule are subject to a $10.00 cancellation fee for CPR, First Aid and BLS. ACLS and PALS will not be refundable after the initial class reschedule or the class date has passed.
How do I get a replacement card?
For general-level training, replacement certification cards are free and can be requested at any time by phone or email. Feel free to give our administration team a call at 916-259-0043 or send us an email at info@procprclasses.com.
I don’t own an AED; do I still need to learn how to use one?
Yes! AEDs are the most important rescue devices for people in cardiac arrest, and they are widely available (and often required) in public spaces. CPR training is not complete without the AED learning portion.
What is the difference between BLS and CPR?
BLS, or Basic Life Support, is the Healthcare-level of CPR training for Healthcare Providers. It is usually required for anyone in the healthcare field such as doctors, nurses, EMT’s, dentists, dental hygienists, or any emergency response profession.
General-Level CPR is training for non-healthcare providers such as teachers, foster parents, construction workers, and the general public. This CPR training is the introductory level class that teaches the basic skills of CPR to empower and increase the confidence of basic rescuers to perform CPR in everyday emergencies.
How long is my certification good for?
Regardless of course type, your certification will be valid for 2 years.
What should I wear?
Class involves hands-on practice so it is best if you wear comfortable clothes that you can move around in. You will be on the floor and bending a lot during practice. If you have long hair, it’s best to wear it back.
What is the minimum age for CPR, First Aid, or AED certification?
There is no minimum age for CPR training. If a student can understand the information and pass the skills testing, then a certification card can be issued.
