What is ACLS (Advanced Life Support)?
ACLS (also known as ALS – Advanced Life Support) is a step above the standard Healthcare Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) training. It is designed for healthcare professionals who are involved in the management of cardiovascular emergencies and certain levels of emergency response personnel.
Providers taking an American Heart Association ACLS course will need to complete the precourse work prior to taking the in-person training. This allows the student to self-assess their current skills and provides the ACLS course instructor with an understanding of each student’s placement. During class, the ACLS curriculum is tailored to students’ individual levels to ensure everyone leaves the training feeling confident in advanced resuscitation techniques.
